LASO transported the components of five towers for the new Stev Wind Farm, a project within the framework of Spain’s energy transition. This operation took place during the month of June 2024, involving a qualified team from various areas. These towers represent a significant step forward in Spain’s energy transition, contributing to the production of clean energy and the reduction of CO2 emissions.

In total, 50 wind components were transported, including tubes, nacelle, hubs, drives and blades. The components were loaded at different locations, such as Aranda del Duero and Santander, increasing the complexity of the planning and logistical coordination. The operation began on 14 June and was completed on 8 July, requiring rigorous planning to ensure efficiency and meet the customer’s requirements, while always guaranteeing the safety of the goods. Equipment such as Power Adapters was crucial for transporting the nacelles as well as the two tubes. This equipment is hydraulically adjustable, optimising the transport of the parts.

During the operation, one of the main difficulties faced was the adverse weather conditions. As high temperatures increase the risk of fire, additional precautions are required, such as constantly checking the condition of the goods. More than 20 LASO employees were involved in this operation, including sales teams, project managers, drivers, pilots and a reporting and photography team.

The wind park will have a significant impact on the energy transition, reducing CO2 emissions in the region. As one of the cleanest and most sustainable sources of energy, wind power is essential for reducing dependence on fossil fuels. LASO’s participation in these projects reaffirms its commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.

‘We are extremely pleased with the success of this operation. It was an exemplary job of coordination between the teams and overcoming logistical challenges, achieved thanks to everyone’s dedication,’ commented the project manager responsible for the service. This project reinforces LASO’s ability to overcome obstacles and its technical and operational capacity in complex projects, always with the aim of guaranteeing customer satisfaction and contributing to a more sustainable future.
