LASO recently completed a project in the Andalusia region of Spain, transporting components for six towers to the Los Barrios Wind Farm. These transports, carried out between October 14 and November 28, symbolized LASO’s ability to overcome challenges and obstacles.

Spanning approximately six weeks, the operation involved a team of around 50 professionals, including drivers, escorts, traffic managers, commercial staff, and the engineering team.

The components for this project originated from two locations, Aranda and Motril, requiring extensive route evaluations to ensure the safe delivery of the goods. A total of 66 trips were completed using specialized equipment designed for wind energy components. Given the conditions of the chosen route, the Super Wing Carrier was employed for transporting the blades to the wind farm.

The operation faced an unexpected pause due to adverse weather conditions in Spain during November, including heavy rains and strong winds, which impacted the safety of both the team and the goods.

“This project was quite distinct from our usual operations, presenting new challenges that required us to develop and implement specific solutions. Team spirit, mutual support, and collaboration were crucial to overcome each obstacle, ensuring that we met our objectives in the best possible way, even in the face of adversity,” noted the project coordinator.

This project tested LASO’s ability to find tailored solutions for diverse needs, underscoring its commitment to excellence in every project it undertakes.
