LASO’s Mozambique branch announces its latest partnership with Roll Group. This agreement aims to offer lots of solutions for the transport of goods both on land and at sea in Mozambican territory.
The agreement between LASO Mozambique, a company specialized in providing road transport services for conventional and special goods, and Roll Group, a global provider of engineered shipping, transport and installation solutions for heavy goods with a strong network in Africa, seeks to become an added value for Mozambique by leveraging various transport solutions.
Combining the solid fleet of land equipment that LASO MZ has with the maritime fleet, specialized project equipment (like Cranes, SPMT’s, Gantry, Crawler Cranes, etc) and the engineering capacity that Roll Group has is a strategic decision for companies, as it expands the market in which they can operate. Since September, LASO MZ and Roll Group have been able to offer both land and sea freight transport solutions. The union between these two companies aims to increase the offer of more complete transport solutions, which include loading, transport and unloading of goods.
Miguel Matos Pinto, MD of LASO Mozambique (‘Laso’), explains: “Laso has been present in Mozambique since 2012 and we have constantly expanded our capacity to offer logistics solutions, including transportation and handling of heavy and project cargo. We can now offer customers our experience and long presence in Mozambique, together with the capacity of Roll Group to offer complete factory to foundation solutions, even for the biggest modules. Roll’s dock ships and deck carriers, installation equipment and fleet of SPMT’s, as well as their engineering capacity are a great match with Laso’s capabilities.”
Patrick van der Meide and Harmen Tiddens, Directors of Roll Africa, are excited about adding LASO to the network in Africa. Harmen: “With our partnership with Laso, we are further expanding Roll Group’s network of long term dedicated partnerships in Africa with leading local players. This partnership offers unique value to companies working on projects in Mozambique; we can now provide ‘one-stop-shop’ heavy shipping, transportation and installation solutions. LASO has a solid fleet of transport equipment in country already at yards in Maputo, Pemba and Palma, run by a capable and experienced staff. The Laso and Roll partnership ensures clients of seamless interfaces in the supply chain and safe and efficient execution of even the largest projects.”
